Flooring trends are a great way to get inspiration for the makeover you have planned and to help guide you to what is going to be available in the shops. For 2021, there are a few distinctive trends to consider for your home.
Top of the list is the use of antique or antique-appearance flooring. This means hardwood floor that looks aged, a little scruffy and very unique. Rustic look flooring with uneven boards and wave looks are going to be popular this year.
A little less radical is the use of combined flooring options. This can be something as simple as using a rug over laminate flooring. Or it can be a little more complicated, such as using two types of tiles in a room. You can even cover part of a hallway in one flooring and another part in another.
Tiles are going stylish for 2021 with patterns, natural materials and high gloss finishes all being popular options. Flooring that imitates other types of flooring work well with tiles such as the look of wood or stone in laminate or tiles.
Finally, don’t be afraid of colour this year. Colourful flooring ranges from artificially aged floors, combinations of patterns, geometric shapes and even the use of randomly coloured laminate boards are all popular.
